Description
Corruption remains a persistent issue in the Romanian healthcare system, influencing patient satisfaction and access to medical services. This study examines the correlation between corruption—through informal payments—and patient satisfaction, specifically in relation to physician behavior. Using data from 2016 to 2024, the research maps the prevalence of informal payments across regions and healthcare institutions. Findings suggest an inverse relationship between patient satisfaction and corruption levels, reinforcing the need for targeted anti-corruption measures, enhanced transparency, and improved doctor-patient communication to foster a more ethical and efficient healthcare system.
