Description
Luminiscence appears when a compund in a high energy state loses energy in the form of photons to reach a more stable state. Different types of luminescence are used nowadays in medicine, forensics, entertainment and others. Fluorescent substances can be used to make stamps because of their property of emitting visible radiation only under UV light. This way, different documents or pieces of clothing can be marked more securely and secretely. Different types of paper, materials and substances have been tested to find the most suitable ones.
